Paleoart of Megalonyx, one of the northernmost species of sloth, going up to the Yukon on a good day. Though it did so only during interglacials, it absolutely would have seen snow. Megalonyx is related to three-toed sloths, but sloths actually went into the trees twice: Two-toed sloths are more related to Mylodon. First known by its enormous claws, the animal was named by Thomas Jefferson, out of all people, who believed the big beastie was in fact a form of lion. Now, America did have lions, but they would not have been Megalonyx. I'm overall pleased as punch with the colorscheme and artstyle here. Airbrush brush save me.
