Paleoart of Paranthropus, an australopithecine and close relative of humans. This mother is attempting to prevent her kids from doing something inadvisable with a wild boomslang. Paranthropus was adapted to become a champion chewer, with big teeth and strong jaws for processing food. Generally treated as an upright sort of chimp in terms of intelligence, their usage of bone tools (and stone, by their relative Kenyanthropus) may reveal that the difference between us and them is smaller than one might think....but that's entirely speculation on my part, I think. Young primates are, either way, universally quite playful and absolutely got up to mischief that could turn out poorly for them.
