Paleoart of Prionosuchus, a temnospondyl amphibian the size of a big crocodile. Like most modern amphibians, temnospondyls such as Prionosuchus would have gone through a metamorphosis as they grew to adulthood. Some temnospondyl larvae possessed scales, as well as external gills, much like an axolotl. In addition, their larvae hatched with all four limbs. Like most animals that hatch from eggs, it's possible their larvae had a yolk sac, although the size of this sac would be uncertain.
